Although I have extensive experience in the field of game design and production, I am a composer and sound designer by training, and have worked on over fifty games and apps over the past four years. I’m currently open for more collaborations and commissions so please drop me a line if you’d like to discuss this.
“I have had the pleasure of working with Nick on a number of projects. I have always found him to be incredibly professional and knowledgeable – not only is he able to fulfil a brief very well but he always goes above and beyond; asking the right questions and making great suggestions. Whether working as a sound designer or game designer, projects we’ve worked on mutually have always been better with Nick’s involvement.”
Laura Chilcott, Senior Digital Producer – Aardman
Each project is unique, and I work hard not only to find an enriching sonic aesthetic, but to create a framework of limitations that fit the mechanics, art direction and themes of the games I work on. I believe very firmly in creating original output with a strong sense of identity that reflects the artists involved, whatever their discipline.
A good sound designer’s role on a project extends far beyond simply creating files for clients. I work closely with programmers, providing them with easy to follow spreadsheets showing filenames, events and instructions. Depending on the technology used, I am happy to provide implementation myself.
