Set exclusively underwater, Silt has a strong visual design of inky blacks and forboding cosmic horror. This presented interesting considerations in representing the sonic effects of being beneath the surface of the water. To capture the setting and emphasise the gothic overtones, I employed various techniques including resampling underwater speakers and hydrophones, convolution response capture and heavy filtering and echo combinations.
